- The challenge
- Bringing all of Sioen’s products, brands and technologies together under one roof for the first time, without overwhelming visitors.
- The result
- An interactive experience center where a curved cinema screen, fourteen LED wall totems and RFID connect all of Sioen’s activities into one coherent story.
From fibres and coatings to woven fabrics and protective clothing: Sioen Industries develops textile technology for construction, transport, defence and industry. What started in Belgium in the 1960s is now an international group with around 6,000 employees. That breadth is a strength, but also a challenge. How do you show everything a company can do in a single space, without visitors losing sight of the bigger picture? With the Xperience Center, a new interactive experience center in Ardooie, Sioen wanted to bring all its products under one roof for the first time, and make visitors feel that innovation is part of the company’s DNA.
Story first, technology second
An experience center as one continuous story
Ocular created an experience center for Sioen in Ardooie where every element contributes to the same story. The visit opens with a large curved cinema screen, where the corporate film sets the tone. From there, visitors move on past fourteen LED wall totems that bring Sioen’s brands to life alongside the physical products. Along the way, RFID automatically brings up the content that is relevant at each spot. The story builds with every step, and image, product and information come together. Where Sioen used to have separate product showrooms side by side, visitors now experience one continuous story.
A space that keeps evolving
An experience center is never finished. New products and innovations need to find their place quickly. That’s why the Sioen Xperience Center runs on Xperify, Ocular’s CMS. The Sioen team updates and expands the content themselves, without having to call on anyone each time.
The response has been unanimously positive. Clients are impressed by the combination of technology, storytelling and products, and internally the Xperience Center has become a source of pride.
From the very first sales meeting, we noticed that Ocular was actively thinking along with our ambitions. Their proposal even included rough sketches of possible applications to give our vision concrete shape. That gave us confidence straight away.
