- The challenge
- How do you make a historical exhibition relevant and engaging for a contemporary audience?
- The result
- An interactive experience where multimedia and storytelling work together to actively engage visitors with the exhibition’s content.
Breedbeeld takes visitors on a journey through Bruges as an international crossroads of people, ideas and cultures. Bringing these stories to life required more than a traditional exhibition.
Working alongside the exhibition's scenography and curatorial narrative, Ocular developed a digital experience that seamlessly integrates into the visitor journey. Visuals, sound and interactive elements complement each other and enhance the content without distracting from it.
At Ocular, we believe technology only creates value when it serves a clear purpose. For Breedbeeld, that purpose was not simply to inform visitors, but to help them connect with the stories and understand their relevance today. By introducing multimedia at carefully selected moments, we create greater engagement and help the exhibition resonate long after the visit.
Breedbeeld demonstrates how a thoughtfully designed interactive experience can be much more than an additional layer on top of an exhibition. When technology, storytelling and scenography work together seamlessly, visitors do not simply observe the story, they experience it.
