For 20 years visitors of the Havencentrum got a unique view of the Scheldt through the Scheldtmaquette, which comes from the Hydraulics Research. This unchanging model was replaced by an interactive, multimedia exhibition, which not only shows more details of the Antwerp's port, but also lets the visitors discover the Scheldt and its different ports. The Digital Scheldt means for the Havencentrum an important educational addition and a big step forward thanks to the use of the latest technologies.

The Digital Scheldt is made out of a unique multimedia formation of a table with a 2 by 3 meter touchscreen with attached 4 columns with 42 inch LCD touch screens. As a whole it makes a great educational and visually strong way to discover the different functions of the Scheldt-estuary. Projected on the table there is a satellite photo of the Scheldt area where visitors can zoom into one of the four Flemish ports and Zealand seaports, but can also receive information about economic values, nature, accessibility and safety in the Scheldt-estuary.
